NKVE between Shah Alam, Setia Alam reopens after flash floods

KUALA LUMPUR: The New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) between Shah Alam and Setia Alam has reopened to all vehicles after being closed in both directions due to flash floods early today.

Plus Malaysia Bhd said the affected stretch, between Km8.7 and Km9.3, was reopened after the closure was imposed as a safety precaution.

During the closure, southbound traffic from Subang towards Shah Alam was diverted via the North-South Expressway Central Link (Elite).

Northbound traffic from Bukit Raja towards Subang was diverted from the NKVE via the Setia Alam Interchange, while vehicles from Setia Alam were diverted towards Bukit Raja.

Plus advised highway users to check its official communication channels, including X account @PlusTrafik, the Plus app, electronic message signs, its virtual assistant Putri and official social media platforms for updates on weather, flooding and alternative routes.

Motorists requiring immediate assistance can contact PlusLine at 1-800-88-0000, use the SOS button on the Plus app or seek help through Putri.

Meanwhile, floodwaters in seven affected areas across Selangor had receded by 11am following heavy rain that began around midnight.
