‘Not even a miracle?’ DPMM face tough JDT test in FA Cup semi

KUALA LUMPUR: Not even a miracle may be enough for DPMM FC to overcome mighty Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in tomorrow’s FA Cup semi-final second leg at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri.

The Brunei-based outfit must overturn a two-goal deficit away from home to reach the final, but even scoring against the defending champions could prove a daunting task.

DPMM head coach Jamie McAllister knows his side cannot afford to repeat the mistakes from the first leg, warning that JDT have the quality to punish any lapse in concentration.

“We gave the ball away too easily and did not work hard enough to win it back in the opening leg,” McAllister said.

“We must be more aggressive, push forward and control the tempo better.”

McAllister said DPMM’s preparations had been disrupted by injuries to several key players, making team selection more difficult.

The coaching staff are monitoring their players’ fitness carefully, with several key personnel still not fully fit.
