KOTA BARU: The Federal Government will increase grants under the Skim Usahawan Bangkit by RM200 million next year to help small entrepreneurs expand their businesses and boost their earnings.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said even modest allocations could make a significant difference when channelled directly to businesses in need.
He said relatively small purchases, such as affordable refrigerators to preserve stock, could prevent losses and generate thousands of ringgit in additional monthly income.
“Sometimes the expenditure is only RM5,000, RM3,000 or even RM1,800, but it can bring good returns.
“I have seen businesses that simply need a small, inexpensive refrigerator to keep their goods from spoiling. That alone can increase their returns by thousands of ringgit a month,” he said.
Anwar was speaking at the launch of the Skim Usahawan Bangkit Negeri Kelantan here yesterday.
He said the government would continue monitoring the needs of entrepreneurs and provide assistance wherever possible.
He also thanked Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud and the state government for their cooperation, saying any issues could be resolved through discussion.
“If there are problems, we will discuss them amicably,” he said.
