Autoguard secures Indonesia EV warranty deal

AUTOGUARD Group Asia Pacific (APAC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo) to become its preferred electric vehicle (EV) warranty provider.

The agreement was formalised at the Periklindo Electric Vehicle Conference (PEVC) 2026 at Mövenpick Hotel Jakarta City Centre.

The partnership aims to develop EV warranty solutions as Indonesia’s electric mobility market expands, with Autoguard targeting opportunities among vehicle manufacturers, importers and automotive aftersales providers.

Autoguard, which has its regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, opened its first dedicated APAC office earlier this year as part of its regional expansion.

Autoguard business development director Jamie Francis Morais said the partnership would support the development of dedicated EV warranty solutions and strengthen the group’s aftersales offering.

He said investments in claims processing technology and its regional expertise would help the company meet demand for warranty services as the transition to electric mobility accelerates.

The MoU was signed during PEVC 2026, organised by Periklindo in collaboration with Gemalindo.

The conference brought together about 500 participants, including policymakers, corporate leaders, investors and international delegates from markets such as China, Taiwan and South Korea.

Held under the theme “The Future of a Clean and Efficient Mobility”, the conference focused on EV technologies, international partnerships and Indonesia’s role in the global EV supply chain.
