Lower-income households will be able to enjoy a six per cent discount at FairPrice, double the current three per cent, from Sept 3, FairPrice Group (FPG) announced in a statement today (Sept 2). The enhanced discounts will be available for Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) Blue and Orange cardholders until Jan 1, 2027. CHAS Blue cardholders can enjoy the six per cent discount every Thursday, while CHAS Orange cardholders can do so every Friday.The initiative, which will run till Jan 1, 2027, is being introduced to help cushion household budgets against rising daily expenses and provide sustained savings for eligible shoppers. The discount applies to up to $200 in spending per customer per day and is valid across all FairPrice stores, Unity pharmacies and FairPrice Online. Shoppers who opt for online deliveries can also get a $3.99 service fee waiver with a minimum spend of $100 on their respective discount days, said FPG.The discounts can be used together with CDC vouchers and existing store promotions.
