Computer game developer who stole ‘gold pieces’ from players’ online accounts is convicted of theft after legal battle over whether virtual money is property

Andrew Lakeman, 32, was employed by British gaming giant Jagex when he obtained access to 68 player accounts in the company’s award-winning role-playing game, Old School Runescape.
