Even when Eddie Olczyk has been away from the Chicago Blackhawks, he’s never stopped thinking about them.
Olczyk grew up a Blackhawks fan. In 1984, the team drafted him in the first round with the No. 3 pick. He started and ended his playing career with the organization. Then, he became a long-time broadcaster for the team. Olczyk and the Blackhawks have at times parted ways. In 1987, Chicago traded him to the Toronto Maple Leafs after three seasons. In 2022, he left the Blackhawks as a broadcaster.
