Some 50 people were evacuated after a fire broke out at a warehouse in Jurong at about 12pm on Tuesday (Sept 8).The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in two Facebook posts that the fire, confined to the warehouse measuring about 20 metres by 10 metres, involved used household items stored inside.

It added that five water jets and a firefighting machine have been deployed to tackle the blaze.Thick black smoke could be seen about 700m away on the Ayer Rajah Expressway.
