Iskandar Investment charts next growth phase after RM6bil infrastructure investment

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Iskandar Investment Bhd (IIB) is targeting its next phase of growth under its STAR2040 strategy, focusing on attracting investments, strengthening business ecosystems and generating greater economic value for Johor.

The move comes as the company marks its 20th anniversary, having invested RM6 billion in enabling infrastructure to support the transformation of about 2,703 hectares of development land across Iskandar Puteri.

IIB president and chief executive officer Datuk Idzham Mohd Hashim said the company will build on two decades of investments and partnerships to position Iskandar Puteri as a competitive business and investment destination.

He said its focus would be on ensuring existing development foundations continued to attract businesses and deliver long-term value for Johor.

Since 2013, Medini has attracted 47 global business services companies, supporting about 7,200 jobs, while EduCity has produced nearly 10,000 graduates since opening in 2012.

IIB also reported RM816.7 million in revenue generated for local, state and federal governments through its development activities.

Its portfolio includes Medini, EduCity and the 1,200-hectare Wawari masterplan, with the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone expected to create further opportunities for cross-border business operations.

The company also unveiled a refreshed corporate identity with the tagline “Catalysing Growth”, replacing its previous “Catalyst of Change” slogan, to reflect its evolving role in driving investment and economic development.
