KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians in Yemen have been advised to make immediate preparations to leave voluntarily while commercial flights remain available, amid escalating armed conflict across several areas.
In a Facebook notice, the Malaysian Embassy in Muscat, Oman, said it was closely monitoring security developments and urged citizens to prioritise personal safety given the unpredictable situation.
“Malaysians are advised to plan their departure carefully, ensuring that their travel routes are safe, transport is available and all necessary travel documents are in order, and to check the status of their flights,” the embassy said.
It also advised Malaysians to remain vigilant, avoid conflict zones, stay abreast of developments and follow instructions from local authorities.
The embassy further urged Malaysians to postpone all travel to Yemen until conditions stabilise.
Citizens remaining in Yemen who have yet to register with the embassy were urged to do so via the e-Konsular portal at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my and download the MyWorldAlert application.
It said updates and critical information would continue to be shared through its official channels.
For enquiries or consular assistance, Malaysians may contact the embassy’s emergency hotline at +968 7159 2388 or email mwmuscat@kln.gov.my.
