The alleged incidents reportedly took place in a science laboratory store.

Pahang acting police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob confirmed the arrest.

The case came to light after the boy disclosed the abuse to his family on Oct 27, prompting his father to lodge a police report.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police detained 417 people during a raid on an unlicensed entertainment centre suspected of being linked to drug activities along Jalan Sultan Ismail here.

The raid was conducted on Nov 1 following intelligence that the premises was allegedly being used for drug-related activities.

The 417, comprising 299 men and 118 women, were taken to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters for documentation and urine screening.

In a separate operation conducted on the same day, police arrested eight men, aged between 21 and 40, at another unlicensed entertainment centre along Jalan Tun Razak.

THREE REMANDED FOR GIVING BRIBES IN CIGARETTE-SMUGGLING RING

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested three people, including a businessman with the title Datuk, for allegedly offering about RM1 million in bribes to police in exchange for protection for illegal cigarette-smuggling activities.

The suspects comprised a company owner and two women – a tuition teacher and a marketing executive – aged between their 30s and 50s.

They were arrested on Nov 1 at separate locations in Putrajaya, Selangor and Johor.

Preliminary investigations found that the suspects allegedly conspired to offer bribes to several police officers and lower-ranking policemen to prevent enforcement action against cigarette-smuggling activities in the East Coast states and the Klang Valley.

The alleged arrangement was believed to have been in operation since 2020, with the suspects also suspected of acting as intermediaries to channel the money to the police personnel involved.

MACC seized four luxury vehicles worth about RM600,000, four mobile phones and a laptop. It also froze 20 personal bank accounts and nine company accounts containing RM1.5 million.
