Plane hits pickup truck during emergency landing in Florida

MOSCOW: A small Cessna 172D Skyhawk aircraft crashed into a moving pickup truck while attempting an emergency landing in Florida, US, Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

“The pilots attempted an emergency landing. During the landing, the aircraft crashed into the rear of a pickup truck,” Marceno wrote on the social media platform X on Saturday.

The aircraft had developed a mechanical malfunction, the sheriff said. Two pilots were on board.

An investigation led by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is under way, he added.

The incident occurred around midday local time on Saturday in North Fort Myers, near Interstate 75, Fox News reported.
