MELAKA: Perikatan Nasional will decide on any disciplinary proceedings or action against Bersatu only after the Melaka election, its chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said.
He said PN had so far received several complaints from its component parties over alleged breaches of the coalition’s constitution and code of conduct by Bersatu.
“We have received complaints from our component parties, particularly concerning various disciplinary issues and misconduct by the party. Such complaints will be discussed at the PN Supreme Leadership Council meeting.
“We will wait until after the Melaka election to determine the next course of action,” he told reporters after visiting the PN operations room for the Kesidang state constituency in Malim Jaya here today.
Ahmad Samsuri said some of the complaints concerned Bersatu’s actions during the Negri Sembilan election.
He said any complaints relating to the Melaka election would first be examined before further action was taken.
“We will act based on the complaints received, rather than other sentiments.
“The complaints will, of course, be accompanied by evidence, whether in the form of video or audio recordings, or written documents, to support our decision-making,” he said.
PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan had previously said disciplinary action against Bersatu was agreed upon at an emergency meeting of the coalition’s Supreme Leadership Council.
He said a notice detailing the charges against Bersatu would be issued soon, while the party would be given a reasonable period to submit its explanation before any further action was decided.
