KUALA LUMPUR: Popular restaurant Rembayung has introduced a new reservation system in collaboration with Grab to curb scalping and prevent the resale of bookings.
Content creator and entrepreneur Khairul Aming, whose real name is Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman, announced the changes in a Threads post, saying each verified Grab user would be limited to one reservation every two weeks.
Under the new system, reservations are non-transferable. Customers must bring the phone used to make the booking and open the Grab application before entering the restaurant.
Screenshots of reservations will not be accepted, he said.
Bookings through Grab are available from today.
Khairul Aming expressed hope that the new measures would help reduce scalping, which has been a concern among customers trying to secure reservations at the restaurant.
