Maintaining a safe clubbing environment is a shared responsibility. This is the message from the police, as the sixth safe clubbing campaign was launched on Saturday (Sept 12) by Second Minister for Home Affairs Sim Ann at Zouk in Clarke Quay.”The objective is clear: We want to foster a responsible nightlife sector and keep our nightlife scene vibrant and safe,” Sim, who is also Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, said. She noted that since the campaign’s launch six years ago, there have been progress in some areas, citing a reduction in drink-driving accidents islandwide, cases of rioting, affray, disorderly behaviour and serious hurt at public entertainment outlets — in the first half of 2026.But the minister warned against complacency, pointing out that the number of outrage of modesty in public entertainment outlets increased from 49 cases in the first half of 2025, to 58 cases in the same period this year.”This increase is a concern. We must continue to strengthen prevention, deterrence and timely reporting, including in our nightlife spaces.”
