Selangor-Bersatu CSA talks in final stage, says Amirudin

SHAH ALAM: A decision regarding the Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) between the Selangor government and Bersatu is expected to be announced soon, once negotiations are finalised.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said negotiations with Bersatu were ongoing, with an understanding reached on the fundamental principles, although several sensitive matters still needed to be ironed out.

He said the cooperation established at the federal level had facilitated efforts to implement a similar arrangement in Selangor to ensure stability in the state administration.

“There are indeed negotiations with Bersatu, and if successful, they will provide en bloc support while remaining as the opposition. The fundamental principles are already in place; it is just that there are a few slightly sensitive details that need to be considered,” he told reporters.

He was speaking after the appreciation ceremony in conjunction with the 22nd Malaysia Games (Sukma) and 2026 Para Sukma at Dewan Raja Muda Musa.

Amirudin said he was ready to finalise the agreement once all related matters had been resolved with the party leadership.

“Wait a moment; it is already in place at the federal level, making it easier for us to implement at the Selangor level. That is indeed the way to ensure cooperation or mutual understanding. Therefore, I am ready for this at any time,” he said.

The proposed CSA in Selangor was previously mooted to ensure the smooth running of the state administration, including matters related to the budget, through cooperation across party lines.
