KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and singer Danny X-Factor has invested in a brand-new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) to keep his e-hailing passengers comfortable.
Danny, 46, whose real name is Mohd Kardanie Anwa, bought the seven-seater Mitsubishi Xpander three months ago.
He shared that the extra legroom makes a huge difference, especially for travellers on long journeys.
Danny previously drove a Honda, but extra savings allowed him to upgrade his ride.
“For the time being, I have had to slow down my acting career to focus on the revival of my group, X-Factor, in the music scene, following the release of our new song, Walu-Walu, last June,” Danny told Harian Metro.
“But I remain active as an e-hailing driver, primarily focusing on routes between Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the city centre.
“I have been driving for e-hailing services for nearly 10 years—since 2017—and I truly enjoy it; it brings me a great sense of peace. In fact, I have never once felt that working in e-hailing is a ‘step down.’ It is a genuinely great job.
“When I dedicate three to four days to driving—from morning until night—the earnings are, thankfully, very worthwhile. On a good day, if I’m diligent about picking up passengers, I can earn between RM300 and RM400.”
Turning to his music career, Danny explained that X-Factor’s performance schedule remains steady, though they stick strictly to weekend bookings to accommodate everyone’s full-time work commitments.
“We respect each other’s schedules, given that we all have permanent careers and families. Ultimately, X-Factor’s return to the industry is simply about contributing to the scene and adding some colour alongside new talent—that’s all there is to it.
“As for popularity, we already experienced that back in the late 1990s. Now, X-Factor is here solely to entertain the fans who continue to support us and love our songs. I’d like to say thank you,” he said.
