#SHOWBIZ: Final year for BTS fans to visit Jimin’s dad’s famous café in Busan

BUSAN: BTS fans have one final year to visit ZM-illennial, the popular Busan café run by Jimin’s father, after the business revealed plans to close in 2027.

The café announced this in an Instagram post on Nov 1, kicking off a 365-day countdown to its closure. “Starting from today, ZM-illennial has 365 days left with you,” it said, without giving a reason for the decision. Located in Busan—the hometown of BTS members Jimin and Jungkook—the café has become a favourite spot for international fans travelling to South Korea.

More than just a place to enjoy a cup of coffee, it has evolved into a vibrant gathering point for ARMY members from around the world.

Inside, visitors can admire BTS memorabilia, portraits and artwork of Jimin, as well as gifts sent in by fans.

They can also browse exclusive merchandise and leave personal notes for the singer in guest books.

Jimin’s father occasionally pops in to welcome visitors, chat with fans and sign autographs, adding to the café’s charm as a personal bridge to the K-pop star.

Its immense popularity has made it a regular highlight on fan itineraries across Busan.

The establishment first opened in 2019 under the name Magnate, before rebranding as ZM-illennial in August 2024.

Over the years, it has drawn visitors from across the globe, many of whom have made long journeys specifically to experience the café.

In its farewell message, the café expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who had supported it over the years. “To everyone who has visited, cherished, and continued to support ZM-illennial with unwavering love and kindness, we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” it read.

The team also expressed hope that their remaining year would be more than just a ticking clock.

“We hope these 365 days will be more than just a countdown, but a precious time to create more happiness and memories together,” it added.

No exact closing date has been confirmed, and the reason behind the decision remains undisclosed.
