KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Construction Group Bhd has clinched a RM1.74 billion contract from an international hyperscaler to build a data centre in Serendah, Selangor.
The contract was awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd.
It covers the construction of the facility’s core and shell structures, campus infrastructure, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing fit-out works.
The project is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 (Q4 FY26), with completion targeted for Q4 FY28.
With the latest contract, Sunway Construction has secured RM9.8 billion in new orders during the current financial year.
Its outstanding order book currently stands at RM13.4 billion.
The group said the project was subject to normal construction-related risks.
This includes fluctuations in material prices, although these were expected to be mitigated by its experience and expertise in undertaking construction projects.
