UniSIRAJ secures place in QS Asia University Rankings 2027

KANGAR: Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) has earned a spot in the QS Asia University Rankings 2027, placing 150th in Southeast Asia and within the 901-950 band across Asia.

UniSIRAJ vice-chancellor Professor Dr Muhamad Rozaimi Ramle said the achievement was particularly significant as the university emerged as the highest-ranked state government-owned higher education institution in Malaysia.

He said the achievement went beyond recognition of the university’s reputation, reflecting the dedication, commitment and collective efforts of the entire UniSIRAJ community in pursuing institutional excellence.

“This achievement also reflects UniSIRAJ’s steadfast commitment to ensuring that quality assurance remains the cornerstone of the university’s development and sustained excellence.

“This proves that a developing university can make significant strides and establish its presence on the international higher education stage,” he said at UniSIRAJ’s 9th Convocation Ceremony at Dewan 2020.

The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also UniSIRAJ Chancellor, graced the convocation ceremony.

The ceremony also saw Maryam Al Adzra Mohd Zawawi, a Bachelor of Hadith graduate from the Faculty of Al-Quran and Sunnah who obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.95, receive the Chancellor’s Award (Martabat Al-Syaraf Al-Ula) from the Raja Muda.

A total of 277 UniSIRAJ graduates received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), master’s and bachelor’s degrees, as well as diplomas, at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Rozaimi said the achievement should serve as a catalyst for UniSIRAJ to strengthen its academic quality, research capabilities, governance and competitiveness.

“We must move forward with greater determination to ensure that UniSIRAJ is recognised not only for its standing in international rankings but also for its academic credibility, noble values and contributions to the ummah.

“Indeed, our present standing is the result of our collective efforts, while the excellence we aspire to build in the future is a responsibility we must shoulder together,” he said.
