KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s world No. 9 Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun fell to South Korea’s world No. 1 Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae for the seventh time in as many meetings as Malaysia’s Korea Open campaign ended in Yeosu on Saturday.
The French Open champions went down 21-17, 21-17 to the defending champions in the men’s doubles semi-finals at Jinnam Stadium.
The Koreans had also stopped Wei Chong-Kai Wun in front of a Malaysian crowd when they met in the Malaysia Open quarter-finals in January.
Wei Chong-Kai Wun’s run was the furthest a Malaysian men’s doubles pair had gone at the Korea Open since Low Juan Shen-Chooi Kah Ming reached the semi-finals in 2018.
