Zahid hopes Malaysia-China ties will continue to strengthen

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi hopes Malaysia-China relations will continue to strengthen through closer cooperation that benefits both countries.

In an Instagram post tonight, he said diplomatic ties established in 1974 had fostered growing friendship between the two countries, which was now entering its 52nd year.

Earlier today, Zahid received a delegation at the Malaysia-China Friendship Dinner in Putrajaya, which provided a platform for both sides to exchange views and share the latest developments.

He said the meeting also provided an opportunity to continue discussions following his recent official working visit to Beijing and Tianjin.

“I had the opportunity to discuss many things with the Chinese delegation that was present just now.

“As it happened, I have just returned from my official working visit to Beijing and Tianjin, so there was much to share and follow up on from the meetings that took place there,” he said.
