Zetrix AI board shrinks to three after four exit

KUALA LUMPUR: Zetrix AI Bhd has seen a major boardroom shake-up with four of its seven directors resigning within a month, leaving the embattled company with just three board members.

The latest departures include Datuk Othman Semail and Mohaini Mohd Yusof, who resigned as independent directors and audit committee members with effect from Thursday, citing personal commitments.

Their resignations leave Zetrix without an audit committee, following the departure of its chairman Wong Kok Chau, who stepped down from both positions three days earlier.

This leaves only three directors to steer the company through its challenging period – group managing director Wong Thean Soon, known as TS Wong, non-independent non-executive director Datuk Mohd Jimmy Wong Abdullah and Datuk Dr Norraesah Mohamad.

Wong, 57, joined the board in July 2018 when the company was still known as MyEG Services Bhd.

He is also an executive director and chief executive officer of Excel Force MSC Bhd.

Othman, 65, joined Zetrix in April 2025 and remains an independent non-executive director of Jaks Resources Bhd.

Mohaini, 59, had been on Zetrix’s board since July 2021. Last month, she also resigned as an independent non-executive director of Cuscapi Bhd.

Around the same period, TS Wong disposed of about 103.6 million Cuscapi shares, representing an 11 per cent stake, and ceased to be a substantial shareholder of the company.
