3 remanded over alleged abuse, death of elderly man in Rasah Jaya

SEREMBAN: Three people have been remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations into the death of a wheelchair-bound man who was allegedly abused at a flat in Rasah Jaya.

Seremban police chief assistant commissioner Mohd Yatim Osman said the suspects, aged between 28 and 34, were arrested yesterday.

He said four people, comprising a man and three women, were initially detained in connection with the case.

“Police obtained a seven-day remand order against the three suspects at the Seremban magistrate’s court until Nov 12,” he said when contacted today.

All three are believed to be related to the deceased.

The case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Yatim said the victim’s post-mortem report was still pending.

“The post-mortem is being conducted at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital’s Forensic Department,” he said.

Yesterday, Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad was reported as saying that police received a report at about 10am following the circulation of a video on TikTok showing the alleged abuse of the elderly man.
