KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Rakyat has named 11 fintech companies that completed its 2026 Fintech Accelerator Programme (BRFAP 2026), following 79 applications for the initiative.
The programme is organised in collaboration with PlugAndPlay and the Fintech Association of Malaysia (FAOM), with support from Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet).
It aims to identify technology solutions for banking operations and customer services.
TNEX Malaysia Sdn Bhd won the grand award, while Unbraided AI Sdn Bhd received the silver award and Carbon AI Sdn Bhd the bronze award.
The other participants were PowerCred Technologies, Dataverse Sdn Bhd, Finology Sdn Bhd, IntelliLabs AI Solution, Codebase Technologies, GBG (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Vespid Sdn Bhd and Wazzap Me Sdn Bhd.
Bank Rakyat chief executive officer Ahmad Shahril Mohd Shariff said the programme focused on finding fintech solutions to address specific operational challenges in banking, with selected ideas potentially progressing to proof-of-concept evaluation.
“The programme gives fintech companies the opportunity to tailor their solutions to practical banking needs through guidance from industry experts and feedback from banking institutions,” he said.
He said the initiative also provided opportunities for Bank Rakyat to work with fintech companies as part of its digital transformation efforts.
Participants underwent orientation sessions, workshops, mentoring, pitch training and industry-sharing sessions before the final assessment.
