KUALA LUMPUR: Binastra Corp Bhd’s unit Binastra Builders Sdn Bhd has secured a RM303.8 million contract from PTT Synexis Sdn Bhd to build an automated storage and retrieval system warehouse facility in Klang.
The company said the contract is an opportunity to broaden its construction portfolio into specialised industrial infrastructure and strengthen its capabilities in delivering complex, technology-enabled warehouse facilities.
The scope of work includes piling and construction of a single-storey warehouse with a mezzanine floor, a three-storey office building, two mechanical and electrical buildings, a five-storey car park, a container yard depot and other ancillary facilities.
Construction is scheduled to commence on Nov 11, with completion expected in less than 11 months.
Binastra Corp managing director Datuk Jackson Tan Kak Seng said the project represents a strategic step towards broadening the company’s capabilities beyond its established core business and expanding into specialised industrial infrastructure.
“We see this as an exciting new opportunity for the group and intend to actively explore further opportunities in industrial and technology-driven construction as we continue to diversify our project portfolio.
“We recognise that the warehousing and logistics sector is evolving, driven by the continued growth of the fast-moving consumer goods, manufacturing and retail industries, alongside increasing demand for greater supply chain efficiency, storage optimisation and operational productivity.
“These developments are creating demand for modern, purpose-built facilities with more sophisticated infrastructure and technological requirements,” he said.
With this latest contract win, Binastra’s year-to-date contract wins have reached RM1.6 billion.
This brings its total outstanding order book to RM6.2 billion, providing earnings visibility for up to three years.
