Experience matters, Rauf tells Melaka voters

MASJID TANAH: Caretaker Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh wants voters to consider a candidate’s experience when casting their ballots in the Nov 14 state election.

Rauf, who is also Melaka Barisan Nasional chairman, said good governance required a balance of experience and the ability to understand and address the people’s needs.

“There is nothing wrong with young people contesting, but do not make the wrong choice.

“I welcome young people so they can gain experience. It is not that they cannot do it, but they must have solid experience,” he said after nominations for the Tanjung Bidara seat.

Rauf is defending Tanjung Bidara against Pakatan Harapan’s Mohd Yunazri Mustamiri.

In the previous Melaka state election, Rauf won the seat after defeating candidates from PH and Perikatan Nasional.
