MELAKA: Pakatan Harapan (PH) will outline plans to address the rising cost of living, create jobs and secure a better future for young people in its manifesto for the Melaka state election.
PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the manifesto would be among the coalition’s key offerings to voters, alongside its administrative track record and ability to address issues affecting the people.
“We will be launching our manifesto soon, where we will provide details of our plans to create job opportunities and address cost-of-living issues.
“Of course, our focus will also be on providing answers to the concerns of young people about their future,” he said at a press conference at the PH main operations centre here today.
Also present were Melaka PKR chairman Adam Adli Abd Halim and DAP representative Young Syefura Othman.
Saifuddin said PH would also highlight its administrative track record in states governed by the coalition and at the federal level to demonstrate its ability to deliver on its policy pledges.
He said the coalition’s campaign would focus on ideas, policies, candidates’ capabilities and its track record in resolving issues affecting the people, rather than personal attacks on political opponents.
“This is not a contest of slander, much less a competition to see who can launch the most vicious personal attacks.
“It is about choosing ideas, policies, a proven track record, solutions to problems and the welfare of the people,” he said.
Saifuddin said PH’s electoral pledges would be guided by four key principles: ensuring political stability, strengthening the economy, prioritising the people’s welfare and upholding good governance.
