Jom Jalan with NPC returns to promote active living in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Press Club Malaysia (NPC) is organising the third edition of Jom Jalan with NPC 2026 – a race walk and fun walk event on Dec 13 in Bukit Kiara.

The event will feature several categories – 7km race walk, men’s and women’s Open and veteran, boys and girls Under-18, and a 5km fun walk that is open to all ages.

Participants aged 18 and below and those above 60 will enjoy discounted entry fees.

NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan said Jom Jalan with NPC is a movement that will reconnect people with their city, their community and the simple joy of walking.

“The event also aims to champion inclusivity, wellness and active ageing. Working with the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Jom Jalan with NPC 2026 supports the shared vision of transforming Kuala Lumpur into a more walkable and people-friendly city,” said Ahirudin.

“Participants will experience a carefully curated route that showcases Kuala Lumpur from different perspectives, highlighting its greenery and urban landscapes.

“Jom Jalan with NPC 2026 is more than just a walk. It is a movement!”

Ahirudin said proceeds from this year’s event will be channelled to the Journalist Welfare Fund to assist media personnel in need of financial support.

“NPC has been assisting media personnel for more than 20 years, and to date they have assisted 100 of them.

“We also hope to have 1,000 participants for this year’s walk and also hope to see more journalists take part.”

The event is being held in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Department and Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

This year’s edition is being organised together with several corporate partners, including the National Heart Institute, Prince Court Medical Centre, Grab, Destini Berhad and Zico Trust.
