Man rushes to elderly stranger’s aid in Serangoon Central, uses hand to shield head from hot pavement

A passer-by is being hailed as a good Samaritan after rushing to the aid of an elderly man who appeared to have fallen at Serangoon Central on Saturday (Aug 29).A video of the incident shows the man supporting the elderly man’s head and staying with him while assistance was sought.The incident happened at around 10.30am, TikTok user spc306, who posted the video, told AsiaOne.The video begins with the elderly man lying on the ground as a passer-by crouches beside him and supports his head.The man appears to use his hand to cushion the elderly man’s head from the pavement while waiting for help to arrive.Another woman later approaches and kneels down beside the elderly man, while more passers-by stop to check on the situation.Despite others gathering around, the man who first came to the elderly man’s aid remained by his side.The TikTok user captioned the video: “A Stranger’s Act of Kindness” and praised the passer-by for stopping to help despite not knowing the elderly man.”He simply saw someone who needed help — and he acted.”
