MELAKA: Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor turned up at Hang Jebat Stadium today to accompany Pas candidate for the Paya Rumput seat Rafie Ahmad.
Sanusi, who is also PN election director, was seen alongside Rafie as Perikatan Nasional stepped up its campaign efforts in the constituency.
The seat allocation is part of the wider political cooperation between Barisan Nasional and Pas, which was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Oct 28.
The agreement was signed by Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, who is also Pas secretary-general, with BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi witnessing the ceremony.
Paya Rumput is among the seats attracting attention in the election after its incumbent, Datuk Rais Yasin of BN, opted not to defend the constituency and instead contest the Sungai Udang seat.
