Wedding bells for former national players Kok Siang and Yee See in romantic Bali

KUALA LUMPUR: Doubles star M. Thinaah took time off to attend the beach wedding of her best friend, Cheah Yee See, and national mixed doubles coach Teo Kok Siang in Bali on Sunday.

Thinaah and Yee See were national teammates before the latter left BAM with her mixed doubles partner Chan Peng Soon in 2022 to turn independent.

Notably, Kok Siang served his first stint as the assistant mixed doubles coach when Yee See was part of the BAM set-up.

Skipping the Korea Open, which begins in Yeosu City tomorrow, has also enabled Thinaah to attend Yee See’s

Bali wedding.

“When it’s your best friend’s wedding, distance doesn’t matter. Cost doesn’t matter. I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Thinaah wrote in a Facebook post.

“Just feel super happy for the both of you, and super grateful to be able to witness this beautiful wedding on this beautiful island. Once again, congratulations!”

Among the players who attended the wedding were husband-and-wife duo Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai and mixed doubles player Lim Chiew Sien, who used to train under Kok Siang when he was an independent coach.

“Made it to this romantic island to witness a beautiful love story unfold. Wishing you both a love that will outlast every challenge in life,” Shevon posted on Facebook.
