#SHOWBIZ: Britney Spears accuses sister and ex of making her feel like a ‘slave’

LOS ANGELES: Pop icon Britney Spears has hit out at her younger sister, Jamie Lynn, and ex-husband Kevin Federline, accusing them of mistreating her and making her feel like a “slave”.

The 44-year-old singer launched the scathing attack in a lengthy Instagram post on Nov 1, where she detailed troubling incidents involving both family members and declared she would find a “new family”.

Recalling visits to her hometown in Louisiana during the Covid-19 pandemic, Spears claimed Jamie Lynn refused to let her hold her niece, Ivey.

“Jamie Lynn never let me hold Ivy one time when I would visit in Louisiana during Covid in two-week trips,” she wrote.

Turning her focus to her ex-husband, Federline, the pop star alleged he barred her from using the toilet when she stopped by his home to pick up their two sons, Sean Preston, 21, and Jayden James, 20.

Reflecting on their treatment, she wrote: “They made me feel like a slave and had all their secret things they did behind my back and all I ever did was work for my dad!”

She signed off with a firm declaration: “I will find a new family!”

While it remains unclear what sparked the latest outburst, relations between Spears, her sister, and her former husband have been frosty for years.

Much of the ongoing friction stems from her controversial 13-year conservatorship, which finally ended in November 2021.

The feud with Jamie Lynn reignited in 2022 following the release of her tell-all memoir, Things I Should Have Said, which prompted Spears to accuse her sister of failing to support her during her legal battle.

Spears has previously branded Federline’s own memoir, You Thought You Knew, as “extremely hurtful and exhausting”.

Spears was married to Federline from 2004 until they split in 2007.

Representatives for both Federline and Jamie Lynn have so far failed to respond to requests for comment regarding the latest allegations.
